Olive Branch 629 got its name from the symbol of hope in the well-known biblical story of Noah and the Great Flood. Noah built an ark upon hearing a warning that there was a great flood coming. The earth was covered in water as it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, destroying nearly everything. Noah sent out a dove with the goal of finding land, and the dove returned with a small olive branch, which indicated that the waters were receding. That is what OB 629 wants to be for people: A beacon of hope. For people who would otherwise be unable to purchase a home, we provide them with the opportunity to do so, and for people who have been burdened too long by a home they no longer want (or can no longer afford), we provide them with a way out. In addition to the symbol of hope, the olive branch is often combined with a dove and used as a symbol of peace. In peace offerings, it’s common to say that a person is “extending an olive branch”. The “629″ is simple – Tyson’s personal primary focus market has been in Sahuarita, AZ. The zip code for Sahuarita is 85629. Our name, Olive Branch 629, encompasses who we are as a company, offering hope and peace of mind.
A history of our company:
Olive Branch 629 is owned by Tyson Sherwood and is based out of Tucson, AZ. OB 629 was formed in 2010 as a response to Mr. Sherwood losing his job in December 2008. Mr. Sherwood worked in the mortgage business for several years prior to venturing into real estate investing, but when the market changed (US recession) he had to come up with a creative solution for his personal financial situation, and for people trying to buy and sell real estate in our current economy. For most of 2009 Mr. Sherwood focused on other job prospects while doing investing on the side, but realized his passions lie in real estate investing, so in 2010 he decided to focus on investing full-time. He began working with an investor out of Sierra Vista, AZ, and gained some invaluable experience – good, and bad. He learned a lot about what to do and what not to do, and also learned that there are some people in the business just for the money, regardless of the cost it has for others. After this business associate stole several thousand dollars from Mr. Sherwood at the closing of a joint transaction, he became even more passionate about maintaining integrity in his business dealings, rather than focusing only on the bottom line. To best ensure this, he is starting up his own business (OB 629), is staying in contact with other investors in Tucson (to maintain accountability), networks regularly, and meets with advisors who provide personal and professional counsel.
Tyson Sherwood works closely with his wife, Kyleen Sherwood, and together they own and run OB 629. Their primary objective is to provide winning solutions for the many challenges of today’s real estate market, to both sellers and buyers alike, through real estate wholesaling and rent-to-own lease options. In just the first 6 months, the growth was tremendous, and the amount of properties and opportunities became too much to continue working solo. Tyson and Kyleen made the decision to bring on more Team Members to help coordinate deals. OB629 has welcomed several new people to the Team in recent months… This is an exciting time!
